"Couldn't be bettered"

This was a rare foray into the deep south, and we were brought here on the recommendation of one of our son's work colleagues who knew we enjoyed good food. What a wonderful meal this was - gambas pil pil, risotto, roast pork belly (truly amazing), lamb roast and sirloin steak, sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble. But it wasn't just the food that was standout - the ambience was terrific - busy, fun but never overwhelming. A large open space with an impressive kitchen open to view, the interaction between the chefs, at the pass and among the waitresses was as positive as I have ever seen. Add to that a terrific attitude to the customers at the tables, and I genuinely cannot think what they could have done to make this Sunday lunch any better. Looking forward to venturing south again!
